ALOHA! ๐บ
Welcome to my HAWAII TRAVEL BLOG all about the island of OAHU!

๐ That’s me in Waikiki!
Waikiki is an iconic beachfront area in Honolulu, and it’s where the vast majority of people stay when they visit the island of Oahu. Waikiki is also the biggest tourist hub in Hawaii.
I am here to share my favorite things about Waikiki (and beyond!) to help you plan a perfect first trip to Oahu!
Hawaii is an amazing travel destination to experience the outdoors on a budget, and as a visitor to Oahu, that’s what I like to do!
Whether it’s snorkeling, swimming, looking for turtles, or just walking with amazing views, I’ve done lots of things without spending a lot of money.
Although, there are also some very-Hawaii things that are worth spending your money on too!
Whether you have a few hours or a few days in Waikiki, I’ve got plenty of ideas to help you have some classic Hawaii experiences!
This blog is new, so more ideas will be coming your way soon!
Here are some very Hawaii things that I really think you should consider! ๐
WAIKIKI THINGS
Waikiki is a perfect place to take it easy. Go for an easy walk to see baynan trees and surfer statues, as well as to look for turtles. Walk down the surfboard alley to get views from the Sheraton boardwalk. Or do some easy swimming and snorkeling to look for colorful fishies! In the evening, experience Hawaiian culture through a hula show or Hawaiian luau. If it’s Friday, get to a spot where you can see the Friday night fireworks!
There are several beachfront hotels in Waikiki, along with many more hotels that are less than 5 minutes to the beach!
MORE OF OAHU
To see more of Hawaii, it is very much worth doing day trips from Waikiki to other parts of Oahu!
Some of the most popular day trips from Waikiki are Hanauma Bay snorkeling, Diamond Head hiking, and the Pearl Harbor memorial.ย These are some of the must-do things you should book in advance.
There are also lots more things to do on Oahu that will give you very-Hawaii vibes! For mountain views, there’s Kualoa Ranch, Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden, and Byodo-in Temple. For the most amazing beach views, there’s Lanikai Beach, Kailua Beach, and Waimanalo Beach.
There’s also lots of hiking on Oahu that you can do for amazing views, including the Manoa Falls Trail, the Lanikai pillbox hike, and the Makapuu Lighthouse Trail.
You can also make an easy day trip to downtown Honolulu to see the iconic landmark of Hawaii Five-0, along with the Iolani Palace.
And then you can make it a circle island tour to the North Shore with a stop at Dole Plantation along the way!
These are things you can do with or without a car. Oahu is one of the best Hawaiian islands to visit if you know you won’t be renting a car! It is also generally considered the most budget-friendly island in Hawaii too.
WHAT TO PACK FOR HAWAII
Hiking and snorkeling are the top activities to do in Hawaii! Be sure to think about what to wear hiking and what to wear snorkeling!
Happy planning your trip to Waikiki! ALOHA!
