ALOHA!

One important thing to know before you go to Pearl Harbor is that no bags are allowed. It’s okay to have things in your pockets, as well as a clear water bottle. But things like backpacks and purses aren’t allowed.

If you show up with these types of things, there is a convenient bag storage area (for a fee) that’s right near the entry.

The baggage storage process is straightforward. It’s quick and easy. You’ll find a sign near the entrance that will tell you where to go for bag storage. It’s a manned storage booth where you’ll hand off your bag to someone. You’ll receive a ticket which you need to show to get your bag back upon your return.

I arrived to Pearl Harbor by bus and showed up with a backpack, so I used the baggage storage. I took pictures so you can see exactly what to expect!

So when you arrive at Pearl Harbor, you’ll head towards the entrance. You’ll be greeted with signs (reminders) of the Pearl Harbor bag policy that no bags are allowed. The sign says that you can’t take in backpacks, purses, fanny packs, camera bags, large cameras, luggage, diaper bags, or shopping bags. There will be someone standing at the entry to check that you’re not taking anything in that you shouldn’t be.

πŸ‘† Once you’re bag free, you can go on in to explore the visitor center and the free things to do at Pearl Harbor! While entrance to the visitor center is free and you can just show up and get in, you will need a USS Arizona Memorial ticket if you want to take a boat ride out to it!

Official info

You can read the official Pearl Harbor bag policy.

You can bring water bottles in, but I did see a sign at the USS Arizona line that said “clear water only.”
