ALOHA!
So there is no denying that a luau is quite the touristy thing to do. But, it is a must-do touristy thing!
Attending a Hawaiian luau is a way to experience Hawaiian culture through food, music, and dance. It’s really a fun way to spend an evening in Waikiki.
There are luaus all around Oahu, but if you’re looking for convenience and a very-Hawaii way to spend an evening in Waikiki, then there are several luaus that you can walk to from your hotel.
Waikiki is really not that big, so most luaus in Waikiki are probably within a 20 minute walk from where you’re staying, and many may be a 5 to 10 minute walk. If you find that a luau is on the other side of Waikiki from where you’re staying you can just take an uber or a $3 bus ride to get there! Which means that these are easy luaus to get to.
Luaus typically start around 5pm or 5:30pm, and last through 8pm or so.
Now below I have created an interactive map of luaus in Waikiki, so you can locate your hotel and see how close it is. But first, I want to tell you a bit about what’s on the map!
